Illustrated with 3 pages of pen and ink drawings in an untraced hand but with a letterhead with drawings in the same hand addressed Adbury House, Newbury.

A RARE TRADE CATALOGUE OF COFFINS OR CASKETS.
Oblong cloth bound volume 4 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches with the word Caskets on the upper board. 14 ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS OF COFFINS mounted on card and sown into the album. A typed listed of the descriptions and prices on the inside of the back board. The album is circa 1925-1930. The prices are extraordinarily high given the approximate date of the album and this must have been used for the grandest of funerals. There are 17 coffins types listed but only 14 photos are present. A rare trade catalogue. Etrurian, mahogany, bronzed shell and glass £168 is the most expensive.

6 volumes quarto. Full contemporary calf, rather rubbed, volume 6 not uniform. Titles in red and black, 433 mainly folding plates with descriptive letter press, COMPLETE AS LISTED with 5 extra bis plates (105, 177, 329 and 2 extra 341) and plates 197/198 on the same sheet. Internally clean but for a small marginal stain in volume 3 slightly affecting 4 plates and the first 4 leaves of volume 4 also with a small stain. One plate slightly holed in volume 6. Complete but a supplement was issue in 1754.

A MATHEMATICS MANUSCRIPT BY THOMAS GASSON OF HURST GREEN, SUSSEX- DATED 1817
Small quarto 8x6 inches, full contemporary vellum. 165 pages of mathematical notes and computations - presumably a manuscript study text book- the sections begin with a title, some description of the theory and then the mathematical computations. The first section is titled The Use of the Square Root Continued thus it is assumed there was a previous note book. Some of the titles are practical for example OF GLAZIERS WORK or OF PLUMBERS WORK and some technical SUBTRACTIONS OF VULGAR FRACTIONS. The manuscript appears complete but the vendors knowledge of mathematic is not sufficient to tell whether one page of figures follows another- pages unnumbered. One page torn with slight loss at the corner and the occasional ink run - otherwise in reasonable condition - please ask for additional photos.

BOUND WITH - for no apparent reason- THE ACCUSATION, TRAIL, DEFENCE, EXECUTION, AND LAST WILL, OF LEWIS XVI... Edinburgh 1793, portrait, title, plate of the guillotine, 1-108 pages. AND HILDROP, JOHN - FREE THOUGHTS UPON BRUTE CREATION: WHERE IN FATHER BOUGEANT'S PHILOSOPHICAL AMUSEMENT, & C, IS EXAMINED..... London 1750. Title (soiled) with contemporary manuscript on the verso, 4-151 pages (final leaf defective plus pencil scribbling) .
The first of two years of THE CONJUROR'S MAGAZINE. There is a scanned copy of this first year available online and the text collation herewith conforms to that copy THUS TEXT COMPLETE. A scarce work - only two listed at auction and one of those listed lacked all plates- the collation of the other is unstated. All plates throughout have been numbered by some early scribe. Only one copy of this edition listed on COPAC.

A RARE SHOE TRADE CATALOGUE - each issue has 82 pages, thus there are 246 pages in total- DECORATIVELY ILLUSTRATED IN COLOUR THROUGHOUT. Presumably for use at some international shoe exhibition? Three coloured titles by Cazenove, an editorial by Heriot the mayor of Lyon explaining how great the French industy is given the problems of the war, and 24 coloured advertisements for shoes and signs, plus numerous uncoloured illustrations. A rare survivor of the 1920 shoe world- see photos.
